Ultrafine dust – these are particles that are about as wide as a thousandth of human hair. But there is a great danger lurking in the shadows.
\nAccording to the German Federal Environment Agency, there is no fine dust concentration below which no harmful effects would be expected. Especially long-term – even the smallest – concentrations of the microparticles affect the body. Traffic is still the decisive source of fine and ultra-fine dust. If you are driving a car, you also come into contact with ultrafine particles. In general, a distinction can be made between particles with a diameter of 10 micrometers (one ten millionth of a meter) and less = PM10, particles with a maximum of 2.5 micrometers = PM2.5 and so-called ultrafine dust with a size of less than one micrometer. Although ultrafine dust is now considered by most environmental specialists to be the most harmful form of these tiny particles, there are far fewer measurements on it than on PM10 and PM2.5. However, in order to take the pollution caused by the tiny particles seriously, research was carried out jointly with the car industry on a project for clean air in vehicle interiors. The solution from PURb<\/span>cAIR<\/span> is a coating system for glass surfaces that cleans the air of ultrafine particles without using energy – unlike with previous filters, which not only use energy, but also require maintenance costs. In addition, the innovative system promotes air circulation and emissions are reduced. An application on the windscreen of the automobile is sufficient. This also applies to sports and racing cars. Cleaned air not only allows the driver to travel with maximum comfort, it also increases performance and promotes a clear mind.<\/p>\n

But the atmosphere in the area of \u200b\u200bpublic mobility can be drastically improved. Advanced means of transportation relies on the photocatalytic principle of PURb<\/span>cAIR<\/span>. Artificial or natural light not only benefits the health, but also the well-being of the passengers. Germs and viruses are effectively killed and odors eliminated – an added value that commuters, families or immunocompromised people.
